KERALA STATE INDUSTRIAL
DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED (KSIDC)
|
KSIDC was set
up on 21st July, 1961 with the object of facilitating Industrial Development
in Kerala. We have been providing financial assistance to Medium and Large
Scale Units (and now to small scale units also with the upgradation of
small scale units with plant and machinery costing upto Rs.300 lakhs) being
set up in the State of Kerala. However, KSIDC is not only a financing agency
but also actively promotes industries by helping intending entrepreneurs
to identify suitable projects, tie-up technical know-how and provides all
other assistance.

The activities
and the performance of the Corporation are as follows :
KSIDC renders
financial assistance in one or more of the following forms :-
i) Term Loan
ii) Equity
or Preference Capital
iii) Providing
guarantees.
iv) Lease finance.
v) Equipment
loans.
During the
38 years of KSIDC's existence about Rs.4,000 crores have been invested
to Kerala in 400 sectors and employment provided to about 60,000 people.
As the need
for developing infrastructure so as to facilitate industrial development
became apparent, KSIDC has now started providing assistance to set up infrastructural
facilities. Some of the infrastructural projects with KSIDC involvement
are Power projects, Industrial Growth Centres/Bridge, Roads and Industrial
Water Supply scheme/LNG terminal etc.
